Got Questions?

Group Training FAQ

Everything you need to know about our group classes at CKO Kickboxing Emerson.

Do I need fitness experience to join a group class?

Not at all. Our group classes welcome complete beginners every day. Every movement is scaled to your current fitness level by your coach — so you get a challenging workout without being overwhelmed. Many of our strongest members started with zero experience.

How many people are in each class?

We cap our classes to ensure quality coaching. Typical class sizes range from 8–16 members, giving your coach enough bandwidth to provide individual attention, form corrections, and scaling recommendations throughout the session.

What if I can't do a movement like pull-ups or handstands?

Every movement has multiple scaling options. Can't do a pull-up? You'll do ring rows or banded pull-ups. No handstand push-ups? Seated dumbbell press works great. Our coaches provide alternatives for every movement so everyone participates fully.

How often should I attend group classes?

We recommend 3–5 classes per week for optimal results. New members typically start with 3 sessions to allow recovery, then gradually increase frequency as fitness improves. Our programming is designed so you can train on consecutive days safely.

What should I bring to my first class?

Just yourself, a water bottle, and comfortable athletic clothing with supportive shoes (cross-trainers work best). We provide all equipment — barbells, dumbbells, rowers, pull-up bars, and everything else you need.
